Frank the Cat & The Baby Jesus

When The Lady and The Man brought me home all those Christmases ago, they had no idea that I would be such a holiday terror.

For the record, I’m a legend!

Here is the story as The Lady tells it… Frank and the Baby Jesus

I am not surprised by what Frank does anymore.  We've got a very nice manger set up, one that my Mom has generously helped us put together over the years.  It’s a treasure.

Well, Frank has decided that she has to check it out. So, within a few hours of setting it up, there she was on the top shelf, taking her time to sniff each of the figures: Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, each of the three Wise Men, and even the angel.

When I express that she was taking her time, I mean it.  It seemed very purposeful.  After this, she moved along to the next shelf, but apparently nothing caught her interest.  I continued to go through boxes of decorations while keeping my eye out for Frank shenanigans.

Within a few minutes, she turned her attention back to the manger.  She then zeroed in on Baby Jesus.  Before I could take a breath, she had snatched up Baby Jesus in her mouth, leaped to the floor and ran!

Gaining my composure, I yelled, “PUT BABY JESUS DOWN NOW!”

After she did this 2 years in a row, is this not a fair and accurate way to determine if Frank is evil?  Baby Jesus, REALLY?!  She couldn’t have picked the sheep?!  Or even nibbled at the little mossy covering on the roof of the manger?  Why Baby Jesus?  Ok, so maybe The Savior was snack-sized… I’m really not sure of her motives.  She did the same thing last year, only this time I didn’t see her make the grab, but I busted her with Him on her perch downstairs.

She is the reason we didn’t have a Christmas tree for 2 years.

The manger sits in the same cubby on the top shelf, but she only wants to sniff through the boxes when the Christmas decorations come out.  The tree has become her main focus.  We hold our breath every year…

Frank and Renata are CatSmack and you can find them on their very own Facebook Page They have quite a following on Twitter too.  Let us know you stopped by!
