About me

I am more than my PAIN.

While I will write about my ongoing health issues here, both as a form of therapy and as a way to hopefully inform and inspire those in a similar situation, there is more to this feisty female than a body that’s been compared to that of a ninety-something nana. Being in pain 24/7/365 will do that to a person.

I’m a kick-ass photographer (in my own mind, lol!) and an amateur watercolor painter. Learning how to be better at things I enjoy
is always something I am always seeking out.

I’ve become politically aware, and extremely unsettled. This is a difficult situation to say the least, the divide is so great that having a conversation with someone who disagrees seems to drive people I thought were friends further away to the point of having lifetime friendships evaporate.  Unfortunately, this has affected my family as well.  No one is immune and I know we all have stories.  I'm open to hearing yours, if you'd like to share. My belief is to always support those who had differing opinions, as so many lives have been sacrificed to give us the right to free speech. I still believe that everyone has a right to be heard, although the line between free speech and hate speech has gotten very vague.

I love music, my favorite musicians will become evident as you get to know me through my writing.

I love to read, and good TV. I enjoy getting to know people from all walks of life, all cultures.  Our differences are what makes the world such an incredibly fascinating place!

Even before the Pandemic, I was mostly homebound, so I relate much more to what you are going through than what I am.  Honestly, the last decade has been "prep" for 2020. Ya'll, should ask me for advice on how to keep from going insane because you aren't able to go anywhere, lol! Truly, I feel for everyone. I try to keep my attitude light while not trying to diminish the seriousness of the massive situations going on in the world because life is to short to be twisted up in knots over things we can't control.

Playing in the dirt is a passion. Planting something, watching it grow, and bloom is a simple pleasure. I could post photos of my plants every day!

I can’t stand sports, but I consult for an online sports radio network.
Go figure.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea.  I’m interested in so much stuff, I’d have a hard time keeping up with myself, even if I didn’t spend most of my time in so much pain I can hardly move.

So, yes, it comes back to the pain again, and it will often in the writings to come.  For although I am more than my pain, it accompanies me like a shadow on an otherwise sunny day.  I've learned to live with it, if not exactly accept it.
I am more than my pain, but as you’ll discover, it has helped make me the strong, stubborn, sassy woman I am today.

I am the other half to my split apart, MB, my best friend, my soulmate,
the love of my life. We are dedicated to the furry beasts most people call cats.  You can find them on their own twitter as they have many more fans than I.
